‘Gadar 2’ created a stir at the box office ever since its release. The success of the film removed the shadow of flop films on the film industry. Till now the movie has earned more than Rs 500.
Sunny Deol, who won hearts with his performance as Tara Singh in the 2001 release Gadar, managed to recreate the magic with Gadar 2 after two decades. Gadar 2 received rave reviews and had a strong opening at the box office.
Gadar 2 was successful in ruling for more than a month. However, the release of Shahrukh Khan’s Jawan slowed down its pace at the ticket windows. Now the craze for the film is decreasing.
According to a report by Sacnilk, Gadar 2 has earned only Rs 0.35 crore on the 34th day. The total earning of the film till now is Rs 516.43 crore. The worldwide film has collected Rs 674 crore.
After a stellar opening at the box office, Gadar 2 received rave reviews and a good response to huge crowds in theatres. Meanwhile, there is speculation about the OTT release of the film.
There is a buzz on social media that Gadar 2 will be released on OTT in October this year. There are reports that Gadar 2 will premiere on ZEE5 on 6th October.
According to media reports, the OTT rights of Gadar 2 have been sold for Rs 50 crore. However, nothing confirmed has been said by the makers.
Gadar 2 is directed by Anil Sharma, starring Sunny Deol as Tara Singh and Ameesha Patel as Sakina. This film is based on India-Pakistan war.
Gadar 2 has Utkarsh Sharma in the role of Tara Singh’s son. Utkarsh had worked as a child artist in Gadar and now after 22 years he has played the role of Bade Jeeta.
Speaking about the success of Gadar 2, Naseeruddin Shah recently said that he finds the film’s ‘huge popularity’ ‘disturbing’.
