New Delhi : Now the super bike made in India is going to make a splash in the world. Italian motorcycle manufacturing company Aprilia, the maternal home of Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, has revealed its sports bike RS 457. This stylish sports bike of the company is a less powerful variant of RS 660, which is being introduced for the markets around the world. The company has introduced this bike at its headquarters in Italy, which also serves as the technical headquarters for the production of superbikes and MotoGP bikes. The special thing is that the company will produce this bike in the Piaggio manufacturing facility located in Baramati, Maharashtra.

The company claims that lightness, ease of ride and technical equipment are the strong points of the new Aprilia RS 457, which is capable of exciting every rider both on the road and on the track. Look and design of Aprilia RS 457
In terms of look and design, Aprilia RS 457 is inspired by its bigger version R 660. This bike has LED daytime running lights (DRL), full-LED lighting and two-in-one underbelly exhaust. The bike is built on a new aluminum frame which has helped in keeping the bike lightweight. Despite having a 400 engine, the curb weight of the bike is only 175 kg. The company says that the full LED front headlight features the signature lighting style of the new Aprilia generation with integrated turn signals. The instrumentation uses an impressive 5-inch TFT color instrument, while the handlebar controls are backlit.

Aprilia 457 engine
This bike is equipped with a 457cc twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine which can generate power of 47 bhp. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. It also includes rider aids like ABS, three-stage traction control, ride-by-wire and three ride modes. Apart from this, the bike also has features like 5-inch TFT screen with full LED lighting and Bluetooth connectivity. The company also offers quickshifter as an option.
Aprilia 457 Brakes and Suspension
Disc brakes have been installed on both the wheels of Aprilia RS 457. For better braking performance, the company has given dual channel ABS in it. Talking about suspension, the bike has upside down telescopic fork at the front and monoshock suspension setup at the rear. The suspension is fully adjustable and the rider can adjust it as per his comfort. For better grip on the road, the company has used TVS Eurogrip Protorq Extreme tire in the bike.
Aprilia 457 price
However, Aprilia India has not yet revealed the price of RS 457. Still, it is being speculated that this bike will be launched first in India. Given its production in India, competitive pricing is expected, which will potentially be a challenge for the Ninja 400. In the Indian market, it competes with bikes like KTM RC390 and TVS Apache RR 310.
Aprilia R 457 weight
The Aprilia R 457 also uses an aluminum parameter frame like the company’s larger model 660. But its weight is much less than that of Model 660. The weight of the bike without fuel is 159kg, whereas after full tank its weight becomes 175kg. Braking is handled by a single 320 mm front disc and 220 mm rear disc with Bibra components. Apart from this, this is the first bike to come with factory fitted TVS Eurogrip Protorq Extreme tyres.
May be launched in India at the end of September
Aprilia R 457 can be launched in Indian MotoGP later this month. Whereas its price is expected to be more than KTM RC 390 (about three lakhs). But due to manufacturing in India, Aprilia can launch it at a lower price than Ninja 400 (about Rs 5 lakh).
