Earlier, Riyaz Ahmed alias Abu Qasim, one of the main conspirators of the Dhangri terror attack, was murdered in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in September. He was shot by unknown gunmen inside a mosque. Ahmed, originally from Jammu region, had infiltrated across the border in 1999. He was given the responsibility of spreading terrorism in the border districts of Poonch and Rajouri. He mostly worked from the Lashkar-e-Taiba base camp in Muridke but was recently sent to Rawalakot.
