New Delhi: Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s important meeting with political leaders of Kashmir on June 24, an important meeting of the ‘Core Group’ was held in Srinagar on Tuesday in which top commanders of all security forces, including army and police, representatives of intelligence agencies and civil administration. Top officials took part. The meeting reviewed the restoration of peace in the Kashmir Valley during the last six months and it is believed that there has been a significant decline in violence during this period.
According to Srinagar-based Defense Ministry spokesman, Lt Col Amrom Mousavi, it was discussed in the meeting how in the last six months, the departments of the Central and State Governments along with the security forces not only controlled the corona but also terrorism and violence. Got control
There was a special discussion in the meeting that to stop the recruitment of terrorists and use of suspicious vehicles as moving IEDs (ie incidents like Pulwama attack) was also discussed in depth. There was also a discussion on removing encroachments on the side of the road so that there is no danger to the convoys of security forces.
Giving information about the situation on the LoC from the army, it was told that the firing and shelling has been stopped from the Pakistan side. But during the last two months, the activities of the Pakistani Army have definitely intensified on the other side of the LoC. According to the inputs of intelligence agencies, terror launch pads and terrorist activities are active on the Pakistan side on the LoC. In such a situation, there is a need to keep a very close watch on the situation along the LoC. Apart from this, the smuggling of drugs and weapons from Pakistan is still going on.
In the meeting, emphasis was laid on differentiating between terrorist attacks and criminal incidents, as well as keeping an eye on the propaganda of Pakistan and separatists on social media, so that peace and peace can be maintained in the Kashmir Valley.
The meeting was jointly chaired by the Commander of the Army’s Chinar (14th) Corps, Lt Gen DP Pandey and Jammu and Kashmir Police DGP Dilbag Singh jointly.
