Military standoff continues along the border in Eastern Ladakh
India and China have a military standoff along the border in Eastern Ladakh since the beginning of May last year. After mutual understanding made in February 2021, both sides had reduced their military presence from the north and south areas of Pangong Lake. However, points of military disagreement remain on several fronts along the Line of Actual Control in Ladakh. Hotspring and Gogra are such areas where China has advanced its troops since May 2020 but has not yet retreated.
