Mehbooba said – people angry after the incident of August 5
Peoples Democratic Party President Mehbooba Mufti said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir are very angry after the August 5 incident. He said that the talks with the PM were held in a good atmosphere. Mehbooba said that the manner in which Article 370 was removed is illegal. Along with this, he said that talks should also be held with Pakistan for the betterment of the people.
Ghulam Nabi Azad put five demands before the PM
Senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said that many things were told to the Prime Minister. He said that we demanded the return of full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir. Senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said that about 80 percent of political parties discussed Article 370. But the matter is before the court. He said that our demands are for restoration of full statehood, elections for restoration of democracy, return of Kashmiri Pandits, end of detention of all politicians and guarantee of land and employment.
Hussain Baig said- the meeting was wonderful
Peoples Democratic Party leader Muzaffar Hussain Baig said that the meeting with Prime Minister Modi was wonderful. On Article 370, the PDP leader said- I said that the matter of Article 370 is in the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court will decide on the matter of Article 370. I have not made any demand for Dhari 370.
Nirmal Singh said – after delimitation, further process will start
BJP leader Nirmal Singh said that all the parties agreed during the meeting with Prime Minister Modi that there should be peace in Jammu and Kashmir and a government should come in a democratic manner. He said that PM Modi has appealed to all the leaders that peace will come only when everyone works together. Nirmal Singh further said that after the delimitation, further process will start. The Delimitation Commission will discuss with everyone and after that things will move forward.
Altaf Bukhari said – assurance received in the direction of roadmap of elections
Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party leader Altaf Bukhari said that during the meeting, we have been given assurance regarding the roadmap for the elections. The PM also said that we are committed to restore full statehood.
During the meeting, National Conference’s Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah, Congress’s Ghulam Nabi Azad, Ghulam Ahmed Mir, Tarachand, PDP’s Mehbooba Mufti, BJP’s Nirmal Singh, Kavinder Gupta and Ravindra Raina, People’s Conference’s Muzaffar Baig and Sajjad Lone, Panthers Bhim Singh of the party, MY Tarigami of CPIM, Altaf Bukhari of JK Apni Party were involved.
