New Delhi: After the all-party meeting called by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the issue of Jammu and Kashmir, National Conference leader Omar Abdullah said that a meeting will not reduce the distance of the heart. Still, the initiative to reduce the distance between Delhi and Dil is good. At the same time, on the question of talks with Pakistan, he said that Pakistan is a neighboring country, talks should also take place and I think talks with Pakistan are also taking place in closed rooms.
Let us tell you that recently Mehbooba Mufti had said that the government should talk to Pakistan on the Kashmir issue. Mehbooba Mufti said, ‘The rights which have been given to us by the Constitution, which have been taken away from us. Apart from that, there is also an issue in Jammu and Kashmir. The government is in talks with the Taliban in Doha. If peace is to be brought in J&K, then they should hold talks in J&K and also with Pakistan to resolve the issues.
Omar Abdullah said that we told the Prime Minister that it would have been better if such a meeting had been called even before August 5, 2019, because the decisions were taken without taking the opinion of the people and elected representatives there. But what happened happened happened. We got a chance to put our point before the Prime Minister and the Home Minister. Because there was no agenda in this meeting, so we openly expressed our views.
The former CM of Jammu and Kashmir said, “We told the Prime Minister that we are not with the decision taken on 5th August 2019. We do not agree with that decision. We are not ready to accept that. But in the face of that decision, we are not even ready to take the law into our hands. Whatever permission is given to us by the Constitution from this country, to use the court, we will go to court and fight our battle against this decision.
