New Delhi: President Ram Nath Kovind has left for his native village in Kanpur by a special train from Safdarjung station. His wife Savita Kovind is also present with him in this journey. The President will reach Kanpur Central station this evening by Maharaja Express. He will be received here by Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. After this the President and the Governor will go to the Circuit House, while the Chief Minister will return to Lucknow.
After becoming the President, Kovind is coming to Kanpur for the first time on a three-day stay. In this stay, he will also visit his native village Paraunkh in Kanpur countryside. According to the information released from Rashtrapati Bhavan, Kovind will reach the Central station at 7:45 pm. From there you will leave for Circuit House after 10 minutes. During his visit from June 25 to 28, the President will meet and interact with dignitaries from various fields here.
After 15 years, the President will travel in the train
This is happening after 15 years when a current President is traveling by rail. Earlier in 2006, the then President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam had traveled by train from Delhi to Dehradun where he was to attend the passing out parade of the Indian Military Academy.
The President will reach Kanpur today by presidential train. On June 26, you will meet old acquaintances in the city. On June 27, President Ram Nath Kovind will go to his native village Paraunkh and Pukhrayan town by helicopter. On June 27, at around 3 pm, the President will leave for Kanpur from Pukhrayan. After night’s rest here, on June 28, at 10:20 am, you will leave for Lucknow by presidential train. The President will stay in Kanpur for more than 60 hours. From Lucknow, on June 29, at 4:30 pm, you will go to Delhi by Air Force plane.
