The Kerala High Court has allowed the anticipatory bail application of filmmaker and actress Ayesha Sultana in the sedition case. Ayesha had recently held the central government responsible for the increasing cases of corona in Lakshadweep during a TV debate. He had said that the central government has posted Praful Patel as an administrator here. They are implementing democratic and anti-people policies here. These policies of his are proving to be dangerous like ‘Bio Weapon’ and due to this, cases of corona are increasing daily in Lakshadweep.
After Ayesha Sultana’s statement, BJP strongly criticized it and Lakshadweep BJP President C Abdul Khadar Haji lodged a complaint at Kavaratti police station. Abdul Khader Haji alleged in his complaint that Ayesha’s statement is anti-national and she has made such a statement to damage the image of the central government. After which the police registered a case against Ayesha under sections 124A (sedition) and 153B (hate speech).

Ayesha Sultana, a resident of Lakshadweep’s Chetiyath Island, is a film maker and actress as well as a social activist. He has worked with many directors in the Malayalam film industry. He worked as an associate director in the Malayalam film Ketoyolanu Ente Malakha. Ayesha has more than 11 lakh followers on Facebook.
