Mumbai: Former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh’s PA Kundan Shinde and PS Sanjeev Palande have been arrested by the ED. The ED has taken this action against both of them under the money laundering case. Both will be produced in the court today at 11 am. It is believed that ED can tighten the screws on Anil Deshmukh too.
Deshmukh’s Nagpur, Mumbai premises raided
The ED on Friday conducted searches at the premises of former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh in Nagpur and Mumbai in connection with the money laundering probe. . These raids took place under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). Searches were conducted at Deshmukh’s residence at GPO Chowk in Nagpur and Mumbai premises of his personal assistant Sanjeev Palande and personal assistant Kundan Shinde.
Sharad Pawar defends Deshmukh on ED action
Sharad Pawar said attempts are being made to harass Anil Deshmukh out of ‘desperation’ as his and his family Nothing has come out in the investigation against him. “Earlier some (central) agencies had taken care of his son’s business… as far as I know, they got nothing,” Pawar said. So in desperation, it is being tried whether he (Anil Deshmukh) can be harassed in any other way.’
