New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi held a review meeting on Saturday on the ongoing vaccination program in the country. Officials of the Corona Task Force and the Prime Minister’s Office attended this meeting. PM Modi told the officials that the availability of the vaccine should be ensured. Also, PM Modi gave a target to vaccinate the whole country by December.
Vaccination Status in the Country
The coverage of Kovid vaccination in India has crossed 31 crores. The Union Health Ministry gave this information on Friday. According to the report, the new phase of the vaccination campaign started from June 21 and on Friday more than 60 lakh doses were given.
More than 1.45 crore doses available with states
States and Union Territories have received more than 31.17 crore doses so far through free and direct procurement from the Central Government. Of these, a total of 29,71,80,733 doses have been consumed including the wasted dose. The ministry said, ‘‘States and Union Territories have more than 1.45 crore (1,45,21,067) doses of anti-Covid-19 vaccines remaining and unutilized doses are available which are yet to be given. ’’
