Srinagar: After talks with the political parties of Jammu and Kashmir, now the central government has called various organizations of Ladakh for talks. Disclosing this in a press conference in Kargil today, the Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA) said that the talks will be held in Delhi on July 1. Earlier, on behalf of the Union Home Secretary, all the organizations of Leh and Kargil were invited by phone for talks.
The talks will be held on July 1 at 11 am, but it is not clear whether these leaders will also meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi or not. According to sources, the meeting of leaders coming from Ladakh is to be held with Union Minister of State for Home G Kishan Reddy.
Speaking to the press in Kargil, KDA co-president Asghar Ali Karbalai said that he is ready to talk to the Center with any condition but all the organizations of Kargil are of one opinion that the Sixth Schedule or any other law should be passed on to them. Not approved. He wants to see Ladakh as a full state. If Sikkim can get statehood for 2.5 lakh population in 1975, then why can’t Ladakh with 3 lakh population. But according to Shahnawaz War, another member of Kargil Democratic Alliance, only Article 370 and 35A will be discussed from his side in the meeting.
Leh’s Apex Body has also been invited for the meeting. The Apex body has already made a demand for reservation in land and jobs under the Sixth Schedule of the Tribes Act and under any other new law. Along with the Vidhan Sabha, he has no objection from the Union Territories also. In such a situation, there is also a possibility of increasing the distance from this dialogue between Kargil and Leh.
