West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and the state’s Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar have been fighting each other politically. On Monday, the clash between them escalated when the Bengal CM took the name of the Jain hawala case and targeted Jagdeep Dhankhar, terming him corrupt and questioning why the central government approves such a governor.
Jagdeep Dhankhar’s reply to CM Mamta
Here, giving a befitting reply to Mamta’s serious allegations, Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar termed it as a sensational statement. Attacking Mamta Banerjee, he said- My name is not in any charge sheet. No charges were framed against anyone in the Jain hawala case. Mamta has given this wrong information to spread sensation. Mamta’s allegations against me are false. I have nothing to do with any reference.
The Governor of Bengal further said- I am not going to bow down under any circumstances. Whatever happens, I will not give up. I will do whatever I can to serve the people of West Bengal.
Mamta Banerjee demanded the removal of the Governor
Earlier on Monday, CM Mamta said that I have written three letters to remove the Governor of West Bengal. He is a corrupt person. Mamta Banerjee said that her name was in the chargesheet of the Hawala Jain case that surfaced in the year 1996.
Mamta Banerjee alleged, “The governor (Jagdeep Dhankhar) is a corrupt person, his name was in the chargesheet of the Hawala Jain case of 1996. But he went to the court and from there all the matter was cleared. But again the PIL was filed in it. There is no decision on which PIL is pending there.
