New Delhi: The Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Home Affairs met today. The MPs present in the meeting told the government officials that experts have different views on the possibility and impact of the third wave. The MPs said that in such a situation there is an atmosphere of confusion and fear among the people which needs to be removed. According to the new study of ICMR, the third wave of corona will not be as dangerous as the second wave.
The agenda of the meeting was to discuss the impact of the second wave of Corona on the socio-economic condition of the country. Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla and Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan were present in the meeting. The MPs present in the meeting regarding the third wave asked many questions to both the officials as well as gave suggestions. The members suggested that the health infrastructure created by the government during the first and second wave should be restored so that it can be used in the third wave as well.
The members also asked the officials questions on the questions arising regarding the effect of different vaccines being implemented in the country. Many members also asked questions and sought clarifications regarding the fake vaccine scam in Bengal and other states. All the members cautioned the government that all preparations should be made in time to deal with the third wave. The members also asked questions related to the status of migrants and financial assistance to the affected people. The Health Secretary assured the members that the government is making all possible preparations to deal with the possible third wave.
