New Delhi: With the withdrawal of American forces from Afghanistan, the Taliban has once again started raising its head in full force. The Taliban has recently taken control of many provinces. Even now seeing this increasing threat, India has also issued security advisory for all Indians in Afghanistan.
In the advisory, all Indians currently in Afghanistan have been asked to be extremely vigilant. The Government of India has advised all Indians not to do non-essential traffic or any other work in Afghanistan under any circumstances.
It has also been said in the advisory that do not come out of big cities in Afghanistan at all and all Indian companies operating in Afghanistan should take full care of security arrangements. Not only this, all citizens should keep the number of the nearest police station with them. However, the Afghan Taliban has issued a statement saying that civilians, diplomats and people engaged in humanitarian work will not be targeted.
Afghanistan’s Ambassador to India Fareed Mamundzai spoke specifically to ABP News on this growing threat of Taliban due to the withdrawal of US forces in Afghanistan and said that the Taliban will not be allowed to control Afghanistan at any cost.
The Afghan ambassador told ABP News that the situation in some parts of Afghanistan has been deliberately worsened by the Taliban, but those areas do not have much strategic importance. Ambassador Fareed Mamundzai said that since the year 2014 when foreign forces started withdrawing from Afghanistan, the Afghan army had taken great responsibility for the security of Afghanistan. The Afghan ambassador said that the Afghan government wants India to give a strong message to the Taliban to give up terror and play a role in restoring peace in the country.
Although Afghan government sources said that the threat of Taliban is certainly increasing with the withdrawal of US forces, but the Afghan army is capable of dealing with it. But for this, Afghanistan will need military aid and financial help from America. But if this does not happen, then in the next two to three years, the Taliban can also capture Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan.
