Itanagar: The Sangam bridge over the Siom river in Arunachal Pradesh has collapsed. Due to which the way to the border has been blocked. This is another setback for the people of Siang district and Upper Siang district. Apart from this, three people were washed away in the river as the bridge collapsed.
This lifeline bridge over the Siom River is popularly called the Sangam. The bridge collapsed due to the location of the bridge at the confluence of the Siom and Siang rivers. This bridge was built on the Siom river connecting Boleng city and Pangin in Siang district.
Search continues for missing
sub. According to Siang district commissioner Atul Tayeng, the incident of Sangam bridge in Pasighat Arunachal was caused by an overloaded dumper truck. At the same time, the truck with three persons also fell into the river. The people who drowned in the river are still missing. All three persons are said to be from Assam. Tayeng also informed that the NDRF and SDRF have been requested and they are searching for the missing people.

At the same time, instructions have been given for a magisterial inquiry into the incident of bridge collapse. Meanwhile, incessant rains in the region have caused huge destruction in many parts. In which the National Highway-52 from Pasighat-Roing and also the Pasighat-Mariang in Trans Arunachal Highway.
