New DelhiIndia has made a big achievement in the world index in terms of cyber security. India has now reached the 10th position in the Global Cyber Security Index. Earlier India was ranked 47th. At the same time, China is 33rd and Pakistan 79th in terms of cyber security in the study. The US is in the first place followed by the UK in the second place.
This study regarding cyber security has come to the fore at a time when the government is dealing with many types of cyber attacks across the border. On Tuesday itself, the first formal public meeting on cyber security was held in the United Nations Security Council. On behalf of India, Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla participated in it and attracted the attention of the international community about the misuse of cyber space by terrorists.
In this meeting, Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla also said that terrorists across the world are using cyberspace to spread their propaganda, promote hatred and violence, recruit youth and extort money. He said that India, as a victim of terrorism, has always noticed that member states pay more strategic attention to and deal with the issue of cyberspace being used for terrorist activities.
