The National Highways Authority of India is planning to set up several EV charging stations. This scheme will boost the electric vehicle infrastructure in India in the coming days. According to the information, apart from EV charging stations, places like restaurants, food courts, retail outlets are also being planned along national highways to boost infrastructure. Due to this, NHAI has identified more than 650 sites in 22 states with a combined area of more than 3,000 hectares to develop highway infrastructure. At the same time, NHAI will start the development program in the next five years.
In view of this plan, 94 sites have been identified along the upcoming Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. 376 sites with new highways and expressways under construction and around 180 sites along the existing network of highways across the country have been identified. At the same time, the government’s focus on providing world-class infrastructure and related services for the highway network is expected to yield good returns.
