The Mamata Banerjee government of West Bengal has launched Student Credit Card for the students on Wednesday. Through this credit card, students will be able to take a loan up to a maximum of Rs 10 lakh at a simple annual interest rate.
Announcing this, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said- I am happy to announce that the credit card was launched for the students in West Bengal today. He further said that to make the youth of West Bengal self-reliant, a loan of up to 10 lakh will be given under this scheme at simple annual interest rate.

Here, a committee constituted by the Calcutta High Court to investigate the incidents of violence after the assembly elections in West Bengal, submitted an interim report on Wednesday. The NHRC committee has presented its first interim report in sealed covers to the court.
It has a detailed index and first findings. The Calcutta High Court had constituted a committee to inquire into the allegations of post-poll violence in the state. It was asked to submit a report on June 30. Members of the same committee were attacked in Jadavpur assembly constituency on Tuesday.
NHRC’s counsel submitted that the committee members are visiting different places and the team has been divided to visit more places. People are not feeling safe to post publicly, only teams are visiting places. The lawyer further said that it was the duty of the state to provide the logistics but it did not happen and the committee members were attacked.
