A big disclosure has been made in a research by Delhi-based All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS). Research found that patients with HIV and AIDS had less seroprevalence or the presence of antibodies. This means that people infected with HIV or AIDS are less exposed to Kovid than the rest of the population.
Researchers in the Observational Prospective Cohort study included 164 HIV and AIDS patients in the AIIMS sero survey between September 1 and November 30 last year. Of these, only 23 (14 percent) people got antibodies against corona. Sero surveys are done to know what percentage of people have antibodies against a virus.
In this research, people aged 41.2 years and 55 percent men were included. Positive serology against corona virus was found in 14 percent of the patients. Corona infection was found less in HIV and AIDS patients than in the rest. 23 patients were sero positive. Of these, 16.3% were men and 8.3 percent were women.
How to reduce the effect of corona in HIV-AIDS patients?
What is the real reason for the lesser effect of corona on HIV and AIDS patients compared to common people, the exact reason for this is not yet clear. It is believed that such people mostly live in homes, have come in less contact with people outside, due to which antibodies are not being made in the patients or antibodies may not remain in their body after recovering from corona. Doing. However, the real reason is still the subject of deep research.
