National Doctors’ Day 2021: Every year, July 1 is celebrated as National Doctors Day by the Indian Medical Association. On this day, a program is organized on the occasion of birth anniversary and death anniversary of former Bengal Chief Minister Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy. National Doctors Day 2021 – History
The day was first celebrated in 1911 in honor of former Bengal Chief Minister Dr BC Roy for his contribution to the service of humanity. Dr. Roy was a great doctor. He has a huge contribution in the medical world. He was born on July 1, 1882, and also died on this day in 1962. He was awarded the Bharat Ratna on 4 February 1962.
She was instrumental in setting up several institutions for women and children such as Jadavpur TB Hospital, Chittaranjan Seva Sadan, Kamala Nehru Memorial Hospital, Victoria College, Chittaranjan Cancer Hospital and Chittaranjan Seva Sadan. He was also called the first medical advisor in the Indian subcontinent.
