Monsoon is not expected in Delhi till July 7
Head of Regional Forecast Center of India Meteorological Department (IMD) Kuldeep Srivastava said, in Delhi-NCR from the evening of July 2 to 3 Light rain may occur in July. Due to this the temperature may drop slightly. Conditions are not favorable for Monsoon for the next 6-7 days. Monsoon is not likely to arrive in Delhi NCR and rest of the region till around 6-7 July.
Lastest Monsoon since 2012
Generally Monsoon reaches Delhi on 27th June and spreads across the country by 8th July. The last time monsoon reached Delhi was on 7th July in 2012.
what is the status of other states The Meteorological Department says that there is a possibility of heavy rain in Bihar, West Bengal, Sikkim and Northeast states in the next 6-7 days. According to the Meteorological Department, due to southwesterly winds over the Bay of Bengal to Northeast and adjoining East India, a strong moisture condition has formed due to which heavy rains have occurred in Bihar, West Bengal, Sikkim and Northeast states in the next 6-7 days. There is a chance of rain. Whereas Southwest Monsoon is not likely to advance further into Rajasthan & Than, West Uttar Pradesh, rest parts of Haryana & Punjab and Chandigarh & Delhi for next 6-7 days.
