New Delhi: The country is likely to get another corona vaccine soon. Zydus Cadila has applied to the Drug Controller General of India for approval for emergency use of its corona vaccine ZyCoV-D. This vaccine will be of three doses. The company claims that this vaccine can be administered to adults as well as children aged 12 to 18 years. So far, vaccines of Kovishield, Co-Vaccine, Sputnik and Moderna have been approved in the country.
Zydus Cadila has applied to the drug controller for emergency use of its vaccine. After completing the trial on about 28 thousand people, the company has applied to DCGI for emergency use authorization i.e. approval for emergency use. The pace of vaccination is being increased continuously in the country. In such a situation, getting another vaccine can benefit crores of people.

This vaccine has also been tested on thousand children aged 12 to 18 years and has been found to be safe. Its efficiency is 66.6%.
This three-dose vaccine can be administered at an interval of 4-4 weeks.
This vaccine can be stored at 2-8 degree temperature.
This is the first plasmid DNA vaccine.

The company plans to make 10-12 crore doses annually.

The company claims that the plug and play technology on which the Plasmid DNA platform is based is ideally suited to combat COVID-19 as it can be easily adapted to deal with mutations in the virus. Four vaccines have arrived in India so far, out of which three are being given to people. Moderna’s vaccine is expected to arrive soon. At the same time, it is expected that soon this vaccine will also be approved for emergency use, after which India will have another vaccine against Corona.
