New Delhi: There is news of relief for Indians going to Europe. After being vaccinated against Kovishield, Indians can travel to 9 European countries including Switzerland. These 9 countries are Austria, Germany, Slovenia, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Spain, Switzerland and Estonia.
Actually, due to Corona, the European Union had banned the travel of people from non-European countries including India. Only people from non-European countries who had vaccinated Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Johnson were allowed to travel to Europe. After which Adar Poonawalla of Serum Institute had written a letter to the External Affairs Minister demanding that people who got Kovishield vaccine should be allowed to travel to European countries.
India had objected to the decision of the European Union
When the Indian government also objected to this decision of the European Union, it had indicated strict rules for European citizens in India. After this diplomatic initiative of India, one by one, nine countries of the European Union gave green signal to the citizens who had installed Kovishield.
UAE imposed restrictions till July 21
On the other hand, the United Arab Emirates has banned those coming to India till July 21. Earlier flights were to start from June 23. The UAE has banned those coming from not only India but also from 13 other countries. The United Arab Emirates has banned flights coming from 14 countries including India on 21 July 2021.
