New Delhi: The pace of deadly corona virus in the country is slowing down now. In the last 24 hours, 46 thousand 617 new cases of corona have been reported in the country. At the same time, 853 people died. After which the death toll from Corona has crossed four lakhs today. For the fourth consecutive day in India, less than 50 thousand corona cases have been registered and the death toll has also come down. Yesterday 59 thousand 384 people have been cured. The Union Health Ministry has informed that more than 1.24 crore doses of anti-Covid-19 vaccine are still available with the states and union territories and 94,66,420 more doses will be supplied to them in the next three days. The ministry said that 32.92 crore doses have been supplied to the states and union territories so far from the Government of India (free of cost) and the direct procurement category of the states. These include 31,67,50,891 doses wasted.
What is the status of vaccination in the country?
The Union Health Ministry said that 9.61 crore doses have been given in the age group of 18-44. According to the provisional report till 7 pm, 38.17 lakh (38,17,661) doses were given in the country on Thursday. The ministry said that 21,80,915 people in the 18-44 age group were given the first dose while 84,107 got the second dose on Thursday. Overall 9,38,32,139 people in the 18-44 age group in the country have taken the first dose and 22.6 lakh (22,68,517) people have been given the second dose.
The ministry said that eight states – Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Bihar, Gujarat, Karnataka and Maharashtra – have given the first dose of vaccine to more than 50 lakh people in the age group of 18-44. Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Haryana, Jharkhand, Kerala, Telangana, Himachal Pradesh, Odisha, Punjab, Uttarakhand and West Bengal have given the first dose of vaccine to over 10 lakh beneficiaries in the same age group.
