New Delhi: Enforcement Directorate Deputy Director Puran Cama Singh and Assistant Director Bhuvnesh Kumar, who are seeking a bribe of Rs 75 lakh to clear the case in the Rs 104 crore bank scam, were arrested by the CBI by two of their associates. Including 4 people have been arrested. Interestingly, the ED officials were asking for bribe through the code word and the code word 1 kg means ₹ 1 lakh. The arrested accused will be produced before the special CBI court tomorrow and will be taken on remand.
According to CBI, a person named Paresh H Patel had complained to Anti-Corruption Branch Gandhinagar that he has a company named HM Industrial Private Limited and against this company, the CBI under various criminal sections Bank of Baroda branch of Rs 104 crore. A case was registered for cheating.
Keep in mind that this is the second case of being arrested for demanding bribe by senior ED officials during 1 month. Earlier, the CBI had arrested the Assistant Director of ED posted in Bengaluru and the name of the Deputy Director had also appeared in that case. The investigation of the case is going on.
