In the Rose Valley chit fund scam case of Kolkata, the Central Bureau of Investigation has presented a supplementary charge sheet against the company and its inspector Gautam Kundu in front of the court. It is alleged that these people got the money of common people invested in their illegal chit fund and then grabbed it.
Today’s supplementary chargesheet is about the scam in Tripura. The CBI had registered this case on the orders of the Hon’ble Tripura High Court. According to CBI spokesperson RC Joshi, the people against whom the chargesheet was presented before a special CBI court today include the names of Rose Valley Real Estate and Construction Company, its chairman Gautam Kundu and other investors Shiva Movie Dutta, Ashok Kumar Sah and Ramlal Goswami. .
Open multiple bank accounts in the name of the company
According to the CBI, since the branch office of this company is also at Amarpur under District Gomti of Tripura, today’s charge sheet was filed before the District and Sessions Judge, District Gomti, Tripura. According to a senior CBI official, during the investigation, it was found that the accused had issued certificates in the name of plot or land booking from a large number of investors in violation of the Companies Act and SEBI regulations and deposited Rs 31,49,28,885/- in the form of deposits. (approximately) huge amount of money allegedly collected.
It is further alleged that the accused formed several other companies under the said Kolkata based private company and became directors of these companies. These accused intentionally sent money to loss-making group companies and opened several bank accounts in the name of the company. Through these bank accounts, funds are transferred as per their requirement.
The accused used to run illegal money circulation scheme
The investigation also revealed that the accused used to falsely propagate the high profitability of the group, contrary to the truth and viability of the company’s business. They hired a large number of agents one after the other and induced them to collect the deposits by luring them high percentage of commission and incentives in violation of the rules of the company (accepting deposits).
The accused used to run illegal money circulation scheme which was banned under the Prize Chits and Money Circulation Scheme (Prohibition) Act. The accused induced the investors to invest money in several schemes of the private company. The money deposited by the investors was sent to the loss making subsidiaries of the group.
The Amarpur branch of the accused company cheated the investors of Tripura by not returning their investments and crores of rupees were siphoned off by the accused. Keep in mind that in the Rose Valley chit fund scam, the CBI has filed many charge sheets before this and the investigation of some cases is still going on.
