Dehradun: Tirath Singh Rawat has resigned from the post of Chief Minister of Uttarakhand. Now the state unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party has called an important meeting of its legislature party at the state party headquarters on Saturday. State’s party media in-charge Manveer Singh Chouhan told that this meeting will be held at three o’clock in the afternoon under the chairmanship of state president Madan Kaushik.
He said that all the MLAs have been informed by the party to be present in Saturday’s meeting. The name of the new CM can be discussed in this meeting. Tirath Singh Rawat, who returned from his three-day tour of Delhi, has resigned from the post of Chief Minister amid strong speculations of change of leadership in the state. He has submitted his resignation to the Governor. Earlier, he had made many new announcements after coming from Delhi. However, he did not say anything regarding the resignation.
During the announcements, Tirath Singh Rawat had said that many steps have been taken to provide relief to the people of transport and tourism sectors who have been badly affected by the Kovid-19 epidemic and they will be given an assistance of about Rs 2000 crore.
Apart from this, he said that his government has announced to fill 20,000 vacancies in six months to give employment to the youth affected by the Kovid-19 epidemic. He said that he already wanted to make this announcement but is doing it now due to being in Delhi for three days.
