New Delhi: The NIA on Friday arrested two terrorists of the terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba in connection with the blast at Darbhanga railway station. Today the team of NIA has reached Patna with these accused. They will be produced in the special NIA court here in Patna. Mohammad Salim Ahmed and Kafeel, residents of Kairana in Shamli district of Uttar Pradesh, were brought to Patna after getting a transit remand from a competent court in UP.
Key conspirators in Salim and Kafeel case
The agency official said that Salim and Kafeel are the main conspirators in the case. They held a meeting at Salim’s house in February and planned to explode the IED in the moving train so that maximum loss of life and property could be caused. Salim was a close associate of Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist Iqbal Kana. He was acting as the principal mediator between Kana and all the arrested accused. He was also involved in conveying the money sent by Kana to the concerned people which was used to carry out the terrorist act.
