New Delhi: A Delhi court on Saturday extended the interim protection from arrest granted to Lakha Sidhana, an alleged gangster-turned-activist, in connection with the Red Fort violence on Republic Day. Also said that she “will not interfere in things where fundamental rights are involved.”
Additional Sessions Judge Kamini Lau directed Delhi Police not to arrest Sidhana till July 20. The court also said that it does not want the ‘Jail Bharo Andolan’; Let it begin Sidhana was earlier given protection till July 3 and has been directed to join the investigation.

Sidhana had earlier denied involvement in the Republic Day violence. According to the police, more than 20 cases of robbery, murder and assault on police are registered against him.
