Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said that prima facie allegations of corruption have come to the fore in France, so why does the government not get the matter investigated by a Joint Parliamentary Committee? He questioned that if there is nothing black in the pulse, then what is the government afraid of investigation? He said that this is a matter related to the security of the country, so it should be investigated by JPC. He said that it is the constitutional responsibility of the government to give corruption free governance.
Significantly, there was a deal for 36 Rafale fighter jets between India and France. This deal was done between the Government of India and Dassault Aviation. The Congress has been continuously accusing the government about this deal.
