New Delhi: Troubled by the scorching heat and heat wave, Delhiites heaved some respite from the rain on Saturday evening. Delhi has been facing severe heat for the past five days and the mercury is hovering around 40 degrees. However, this is the second consecutive day when rain showers have brought smiles on people’s faces in some areas of Delhi.
Before the rain in the capital this evening, there were strong winds in many areas. There was some relief from the heat due to cloudy sky, but when it rained, a drop in temperature was recorded.

the weather was pleasant in the morning
The weather remained pleasant in Delhi on Saturday morning as the minimum temperature was recorded at 24.1 degrees Celsius, which is four notches below normal this season. According to the Meteorological Department, the relative humidity at 8.30 am was 74 per cent and the city recorded 19 mm of rain during the last 24 hours. The Meteorological Department has forecast light rain with partly cloudy sky and thunderstorms.
The Meteorological Department said that the maximum temperature on Friday was 41.3 degrees Celsius, which is five degrees above normal this season, while the minimum temperature was 27.2 degrees Celsius, which is one degree below normal this season.
