New Delhi: The BJP maintained its dominance in the district panchayat president elections in Uttar Pradesh. CM Yogi said that BJP has won 67 out of 75 seats. On Saturday, the State Election Commission declared the results of 53 districts. Earlier on Tuesday, district panchayat presidents were declared elected unopposed in 22 districts, mostly BJP candidates. With this victory, CM Yogi said that BJP will win more than 300 seats in the upcoming assembly elections.

SP got only 4 seats
According to the information given by the State Election Commission, in the three-tier panchayat elections of Uttar Pradesh, voting was held in 53 districts from 11 am to 3 pm. Counting of votes started after 3 pm and results were declared by late evening. According to sources, in the counting of votes held on Saturday, Samajwadi Party in Etah, Sant Kabir Nagar, Azamgarh and Ballia, Rashtriya Lok Dal in Baghpat, Independent in Jaunpur and Jansatta Dal candidate in Pratapgarh. Apart from these, all remaining seats have been won by BJP-backed candidates.

Akhilesh alleges misuse of power
