Weather Update: Rain in Delhi-NCR for the second consecutive day on Saturday brought relief to people from heat wave and scorching heat. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain in Delhi today. The Meteorological Department had already predicted that there would be heavy pre-monsoon rains between July 2-4. Monsoon is likely to reach from 7 to 10 July. Today the maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be around 39 degree and 24 degree Celsius respectively.
At the same time, the mercury is still rising in Rajasthan, Punjab and Haryana. The maximum temperature during the day was recorded at 42.1 degree Celsius in Karauli, Rajasthan. At the same time, the temperature reached 42 degree Celsius in Bathinda, Punjab. The Meteorological Department said that the effect of heat wave has reduced in the plains and mountainous areas of North India and there is no possibility of heat wave for the next five days. The temperature is expected to drop by three to four degrees Celsius in the next five days.
Due to south-westerly winds from the Arabian Sea, the heat wave has reduced in Assam. However, due to increase in humidity along with these winds, the weather will remain uncomfortable during the next five days. In the last two days, the temperature had crossed 40 degree Celsius in many places including Delhi.

Light rain is possible in Marathwada, Vidarbha, Telangana and North Rajasthan.
