New Delhi: BJP protested in the area today over water problem in Delhi’s Patel Nagar. In this demonstration, former BJP corporator Shyam Bala sat on a symbolic hunger strike, to support whom former BJP union minister Vijay Goel reached. In this protest, women participated fiercely and raised slogans against CM Arvind Kejriwal by keeping the matka on the head.
BJP leader Vijay Goel, while targeting the Kejriwal government regarding the water problem, told the lack of planning of the Delhi government as the reason for the lack of water in Delhi. He said, “I get calls from all over Delhi about water scarcity. People are not able to drink clean water even after getting RO installed. In Delhi, there is no pipeline, dirty water is coming. This government is involved in corruption with tanker mafia. Got it.”
Some women of the area involved in the protest say that there is no water in the house, water comes for half an hour a day, the tenant will fill it or the landlord. Some women say that there is a problem of water since 2 months. Whatever comes a little late in the day, it also comes very light and very dirty and smelly, so in such a situation, we wake up all night and wait for water.
This is not the first demonstration regarding the water problem in Delhi. With the onset of summer, there is a shortage of water in Delhi. In the last two months, there are several dozen areas of Delhi where complaints have come to the fore, ranging from lack of water, to dirty and smelly water. For years, the people of Delhi have been battling this problem. There is a water pipeline in some areas of Delhi, but in some places water has not come in the pipeline for months, while the situation is not much better in the areas where water reaches through tankers.
