New Delhi: While Asaduddin Owaisi and Digvijay Singh have retaliated on RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s statement of DNA, NCP leader Jitendra Awhad has supported it. Awhad is also a minister in the Maharashtra government. Interestingly, senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Digvijay retorted the statement, while the leader of his party’s ally NCP in Maharashtra has supported.
On Mohan Bhagwat’s statement, Jitendra Awhad said, “I welcome the statement of the RSS chief, it will bring peace. He has said exactly what we have been saying for over 100 years. This change of mind is welcome.”
What did the union chief say?
Mohan Bhagwat on Sunday said that the DNA of all Indians is the same and Muslims should not fall into this cycle of fear that Islam is under threat in India. He also said that those who ask Muslims to leave the country cannot call themselves Hindus.
He was speaking at a program organized by Rashtriya Muslim Manch in Ghaziabad on the topic ‘Hindustani Pratham, Hindustan Pratham’. He said that people cannot be differentiated on the basis of their method of worship.
The RSS chief attacked those involved in the incidents of lynching, saying, “They are against Hindutva.” However, he said that some false cases of lynching have been registered against the people. .
Bhagwat told the Muslims, “Let them not fall into this cycle of fear that Islam is in danger in India.” He said development is not possible without unity in the country. The RSS chief emphasized that the basis of unity should be nationalism and pride of ancestors. He said that the only solution to the Hindu-Muslim conflict is ‘Samvad’ and not ‘Visamvad’.
