Accusing filmmakers of easily targeting Hindu deities, Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra on Monday said the police will probe and take action against Kartik Aaryan-starrer upcoming film “Satyanarayana Ki Katha”. Objecting to the title of the film, an organization said that the title was an insult to Hindu gods and the organization demanded an apology from the filmmaker.
When asked about Hindu organizations opposing the film ‘Satyanarayana Ki Katha’, Mishra said, “My request to all film and web series producers is to stop targeting Hindu gods and goddesses. I have directed the DGP to investigate the controversial content in the web series ‘Satyanarayana’. Action will be decided on the basis of the inquiry report.
Last month, producer Sajid Nadiadwala announced that Bollywood star Kartik Aaryan will play the lead role in his upcoming film Satyanarayan Ki Katha.
Mishra alleged that Bollywood filmmakers target Hindu gods and goddesses in their films. He asked that these filmmakers never make such films about other religions, have you ever heard that they have written and made such films about minorities? They said that they cannot do this, our gods and goddesses are easy targets for them.
Earlier on Sunday, a Hindu organization named Sanskriti Bachao Manch staged a protest demanding action against the producer of the upcoming film Satyanarayan Ki Katha.
Manch president Chandrashekhar Tiwari said, “We have submitted a memorandum to Bhopal MP Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur on Sunday and demanded that the production of this film be stopped. The forum also demanded that an FIR should be lodged against the producer.” He has also demanded an apology from the producer of this film.
