New Delhi: Delhi Congress today demonstrated outside Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s house demanding reduction in VAT on expensive petrol and diesel. A large number of party workers were present along with Delhi Congress State President Anil Chaudhary in this demonstration. The workers created a lot of ruckus by gheraoing the house of CM Kejriwal. The workers reached outside the chief minister’s house by breaking the barricade. The women activists involved in the protest sat on a sit-in, although after some time the police removed everyone from there.
During this demonstration, Delhi State President Anil Chaudhary said, “Delhi government can give some relief to the people by reducing VAT. Congress is protesting at this time due to inflation. Petrol and diesel have become expensive, today petrol is Rs 99. There is 86 paise. The Chief Minister does not listen here. He has to reduce VAT. If you think about Delhi, then reduce VAT immediately.”
At the same time, the women activists involved in the protest say that if the state government wants to reduce the tax on the way the price of petrol has increased, then it can reduce the tax. Some women fiercely surrounded the government not only about the inflation of petrol and diesel but also other things. He said, “Everything is getting expensive even though vegetable gas has become expensive. But these people are just filling their coffers and the Congress party is standing with the people even when they are not in power. At this time the public is getting a double whammy. One is Corona and the price of petrol is increasing continuously from above.
Petrol and diesel prices are touching the sky in Delhi. It is only a few paise less than the price of petrol in Delhi crossing 100. Today, the price of petrol in Delhi is 99 rupees 86 paise, while diesel is 89 rupees 36 paise.
