Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh has accused Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal of making a false election promise of free electricity, claiming that the AAP leader has ignored farmers in his own state.
Singh said, “Kejriwal government has completely failed in Delhi on issues related to the people. It did not provide free electricity to the farmers of the villages located in the national capital and the cost of electricity for industrial businesses there is very high. He said that Kejriwal has made a false election promise of providing free electricity to the people of Punjab.
CM Kejriwal recently promised that if his party comes to power in Punjab next year, free electricity will be provided to households consuming less than 300 units of electricity. Also power will be supplied at all times.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has made this promise at a time when Punjab is facing power crisis and some Congress leaders are also talking on this issue.
Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu, who is seen attacking the Chief Minister, on Sunday suggested that up to 300 units of electricity should be given free of cost. But the Chief Minister claimed that AAP’s model of power supply in Delhi has failed.
