New Delhi: The 74-year-old dream of the country’s northeastern state of Manipur came true on Friday. Manipur was waiting for the first train since the country’s independence. Now this wait is over and soon Manipur will be directly connected to the rest of the country by rail line.
On Friday, the work of trial run from Silchal in Assam to Bangichung Pau in Manipur has been completed. According to the information received by ABP News, soon the Railway Minister will formally inaugurate this railway line and flag off the movement of trains.
Assembly elections are to be held in Manipur early next year along with UP. There is a BJP government there now. BJP can also get the benefit of this historic work in elections.
Which other states of the country do not have rail network
Apart from Manipur, Sikkim also does not have a rail network, although the people of Sikkim have been waiting for this for 14 years. The foundation stone of the rail network in Sikkim was laid in 2009 when Mamata Banerjee was the Railway Minister. This project is being said to be completed by the end of 2022.
Apart from this, Mizoram and Nagaland are also such states that are not on the rail map of India. Work is going on at a brisk pace to connect them with the rail network. A track is being laid to connect Mizoram’s capital Aizawl and Nagaland’s capital Kohima with the rail line. It is expected that this work will be completed by March 2023.
