New Delhi: Amidst the discussion of expansion in the Union Cabinet, Union Social Justice Minister Thawar Chandra Gehlot has been made the Governor of Karnataka. After being made the governor, 73-year-old Gehlot has given the cabinet. Along with Gehlot, seven more governors have been appointed and transferred.
Thawarchand Gehlot has been the Dalit face of the Modi government and he comes from Madhya Pradesh. He is now a Rajya Sabha member. Along with this, he is also a member of the BJP’s Parliamentary Board and Central Election Committee. He started his political career from Madhya Pradesh. He was elected MLA thrice to the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly. After this he came into the politics of the center. Thawarchand Gehlot was also elected four times Lok Sabha MP. After the formation of the government at the center of the Bharatiya Janata Party in 2014, he was made a minister at the center. After this, the Modi government was again formed at the center, even then he was included in the cabinet.

Along with Gehlot, Mizoram Governor Sreedharan Pillai has been transferred and Goa, Haryana Governor Satyadev Narayan Arya has been transferred and appointed as Tripura Governor. Apart from this, Tripura Governor Ramesh Bais has been made the Governor of Jharkhand and Mangubhai Chhaganbhai Patel has been given the responsibility of the Governor of Madhya Pradesh. Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati has been appointed as the Governor of Mizoram and Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar has been appointed as the Governor of Himachal Pradesh.
