New Delhi: In Delhi, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal launched the ‘Chief Minister Kovid-19 Family Financial Assistance Scheme’ launched by the Social Welfare Department of the Delhi Government through video conference.
Under the scheme, a lump sum assistance of Rs 50,000 will be given to the family of every person who lost his life due to corona and his dependent will be given Rs 2,500 every month. Also, orphaned children will be given Rs 2,500 every month till the age of 25. The Chief Minister announced that we will not wait for people to apply, but representatives of the Delhi government will go to their homes and get the forms filled themselves. If the papers are not complete, then the responsibility of getting them made will also be the responsibility of the representative.
Launching the portal of the scheme, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that we all know how the entire human race is suffering from the corona epidemic for the last one and a half years. For the last one and a half years, there is an outbreak of this epidemic not only in India, but all over the world. Two waves have come in our country. The first wave came last year and the second wave just came in the month of April. For the country it may be two waves, but for Delhi it was the fourth wave. This fourth wave of Delhi spread very fast and affected a lot of people. There would hardly be any family left in which someone or the other did not get corona during this fourth wave and during this time many people died.
CM Arvind Kejriwal said that there are many such cases in which children have become orphans, now there is no one to take care of those children. The earning member of the family died and now there is no one to run the house. In such a situation, as a responsible and sensitive government, it is our duty to support all those people, stand with them and do whatever we can for them. In this regard, we discussed with the officials and people and this plan was ready. Under the scheme, it was decided that a lump sum amount of Rs 50 thousand should be given to the family of every such person. Along with this, those people whose earning person has died in their homes, those people should be given a support of a certain amount every month.
Describing the process of application for the beneficiaries, the Chief Minister said that two ways can be applied to take advantage of the scheme. One way is that people can apply themselves by visiting the portal and secondly, a representative of the Delhi government will visit the homes of all those people who have died in their homes and that representative will send this form to those people. Will fill up and register.
Instructing all the representatives going to the homes of the people, the CM said that when you go to the houses of the people, you do not have to scrutinize them or find out the deficiencies in their papers. We are going to do their work at their house, if they lack any paper, then it is the responsibility of the representative going to their house to get that paper made. The responsibility of making the paper rests with the Delhi government. All the representatives will note down all that and bring them.
