PM Modi Cabinet Expansion 2021: After the oath of 43 ministers, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has divided the portfolios. PM Modi has made a big change in the departments. Home Minister Amit Shah has been given the responsibility of the Ministry of Cooperation. Mansukh Mandaviya has got the Health Ministry. Mandaviya will also hold the charge of the Ministry of Chemical Fertilizers. Harsh Vardhan has resigned from the post of Health Minister before the cabinet expansion today.
The Ministry of Textiles has been handed over from Smriti Irani to Piyush Goyal. Smriti Irani will continue as the Minister of Women and Development. Dharmendra Pradhan has been given the Ministry of Education. Ashwini Vaishnav has been given the Ministry of Railways and the Ministry of IT. There are 53 central ministries in the country. 53 ministries will be looked after by 30 cabinet ministers. Hardeep Puri has been given the Petroleum Ministry. Puri will continue as urban development minister.
Let us inform that 36 new faces have been included in the expansion and reshuffle of the Council of Ministers, while seven current ministers of state were promoted and included in the cabinet. Eight new faces, including Jyotiraditya Scindia and Narayan Rane, who joined the BJP from Shiv Sena, were also given the status of cabinet ministers. President Ram Nath Kovind administered the oath of office and secrecy to all 43 members included in the Council of Ministers in a ceremony held at the Durbar Hall of Rashtrapati Bhavan.
