New Delhi: On Wednesday, the nature of the Modi government changed completely and changed in a way that even big political pundits could not imagine. Many new faces have knocked in the Modi cabinet, while many veterans have had to look for a way out. The mathematics working in the addition and subtraction of ministers gives a clear glimpse of PM Modi’s future planning.
Along with the assembly elections to be held next year in the new Modi cabinet, there is an attempt to give representation to every section of the society. Talking about the electoral states, maximum 7 ministers have been made from UP. With this, the total number of ministers coming from here has increased to 16. After this, 5 ministers have been made from Gujarat, 1 each from Uttarakhand, Punjab, Himachal and Manipur.
UP assembly elections are important for BJP
Actually, Uttar Pradesh is going to have assembly elections in the year 2022 and this election is very important for BJP, that is why UP was given maximum importance in the cabinet expansion. In this expansion, an attempt was made to solve the caste and regional equations before the elections.
Keeping the caste equation in the selection of the seven ministers of Uttar Pradesh who have been included, the state assembly elections to be held early next year have also been kept in mind. Out of the new Union ministers who have been made from the state, three belong to the backward class, three to the Dalit group while one belongs to the Brahmin community. Out of these seven faces, only one is from an ally and the rest are MPs from BJP.
Trying to reach out to allies by making Anupriya Patel a minister
Apna Dal’s Mirzapur MP Anupriya Patel has also been included in the cabinet. She has also been a minister of state in the first government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. However, after winning the Lok Sabha elections in 2019, he did not get a place in the cabinet again. But keeping in mind the equations of UP, now he has been made a minister.
After Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat was given importance and 5 ministers have been made from there. Through this also an attempt has been made to balance the equation before the assembly elections to be held in Gujarat next year.
