He has been instrumental in bringing back the Shivraj Singh Chouhan-led BJP government in Madhya Pradesh after 15 months after toppling the Kamal Nath-led Congress government in March last year.
What did Scindia say after becoming a minister??
Discussions were going on for Scindia’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s place in the Council of Ministers, but this opportunity came after waiting for about a quarter of a year. After becoming a minister, Scindia tweeted and said, “Heartfelt thanks to respected PM Modi and the top leadership for including me in the Union Cabinet and reposing faith in me. I assure that whatever responsibility has been given to me, I will discharge it with full capacity and dedication by following the policies of the party under the able leadership of Modi ji.
Came from Congress to BJP and then became a minister like this
Scindia, once a strong leader of Congress, left Congress on 10 March 2020 and joined BJP on 11 March 2020. Along with him, 22 Congress MLAs had also resigned, due to which the 15-month-old Congress government led by Kamal Nath in Madhya Pradesh fell and on 23 March 2020, Shivraj Singh Chouhan of BJP became the Chief Minister of the state for the fourth time.
A few days before the fall of the then Kamal Nath government, Scindia had warned at a meeting in Tikamgarh that if the then government led by Kamal Nath did not fulfill the promises of the party’s manifesto, he would “go on the road”. On this warning, Kamal Nath had said, “So get down on the road.” After this, Scindia left the Congress and joined the BJP. After this, Scindia became an MP from the Rajya Sabha seat of Madhya Pradesh on a BJP ticket and has now become a minister in the BJP-led central government.
