Cabinet Decision: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s new cabinet team has started its work. On Thursday, PM Modi held a virtual meeting with the new cabinet team. Addressing the press conference after this meeting, Union Minister Anurag Thakur said that important decisions were taken in today’s meeting. Decisions were also taken regarding the field of agriculture. The decision was taken to give benefits to the farmers. The government wants to empower the mandis.
Ministers took charge
Earlier on Thursday, most of the ministers took charge. Bhupendra Yadav took over as the Minister of Environment and Labor. Meenakshi Lekhi took over as the Minister of State in the Ministry of External Affairs. Giriraj Singh took over as the Union Minister of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj. He said, “Making a new form of self-reliant India by realizing the dreams of rural development and Panchayati Raj PM, where people get all the comforts, people do not migrate, my goal is.”
Pashupati Kumar Paras took over the charge of the Food Processing Ministry. He is the brother of late Ram Vilas Paswan, a former Union Minister and founder of Lok Janshakti Party. Senior Gujarat BJP leader Purushottam Rupala, who has been elevated as a cabinet minister, took charge as the Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying on Thursday. Ajay Kumar took over as the Minister of State in the Ministry of Home Affairs. Anurag Thakur took charge as Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports.
Anupriya Singh Patel took over as the Minister of State in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. She said, “I would like to express my gratitude to the Prime Minister because he gave me this opportunity for the second time. This is a good department, this is a new department for me, I will get to learn a lot.”
Jai Kumar and Nisith Pramanik took over as the Union Ministers of State for Home on Thursday. Kumar is a Lok Sabha member from Kheri in Uttar Pradesh and Pramanik is a Lok Sabha member from Cooch Behar in Bengal.
Jitendra Singh took charge of the Ministry of Science and Technology as well as the Ministry of Earth Sciences. Bhagwat Kishanrao Karad took over as the new Minister of State for Finance. Karad, who hails from Maharashtra, was elected MP for the first time in 2019. He is a member of Rajya Sabha.
Union Minister G Kishan Reddy said, “I took charge today along with the associate ministers of state of the Department of Tourism, Culture and North East. We will work under the guidance of the Prime Minister. With the cooperation of the state governments, the Department of Tourism, Department of Culture and the development of 8 states of the North East will take forward. Apart from this, other leaders also took charge.
