WhatsApp said will wait till the data protection bill
WhatsApp said that the government is the administrator of the rules and WhatsApp has clearly said that they will wait till the Data Protection Bill. On behalf of WhatsApp, it was said in the court that if the Data Protection Bill says that the company is not allowed to make such guidelines regarding privacy, then we will not do so. If the law of the land allows us to do so, we will go ahead.
Meanwhile, WhatsApp’s lawyer gave an example and said that suppose you are buying a mobile phone, then you have to give all this data including name and phone number. On this, the court asked the question to WhatsApp’s lawyer that you are accused that you want to collect user’s data and give it to others, you cannot do this.
