New Delhi: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, who reached Delhi for the first time after becoming the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, met PM Modi at his residence today. Earlier on Friday, he had met Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari. This courtesy meeting took place at Maharashtra Sadan in the capital.
According to the information, he will also meet President Ram Nath Kovind. After this, Dhami will meet Home Minister Amit Shah and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh today. After this, the Chief Minister has a program of meeting with other Union Ministers.
Dhami took oath as the 11th Chief Minister of Uttarakhand on July 4. The two-time MLA from Khatima seat in Udham Singh Nagar district has replaced Tirath Singh Rawat. After becoming the chief minister, Rawat had to get the membership of the assembly within six months. Seeing this not possible, Rawat had to resign from the post so that there would be no constitutional crisis in the state.
Assembly elections are due in Uttarakhand next year and Dhami now has less than 10 months to go. In such a situation, his visit is being considered important. He can also discuss election preparations and future strategy with senior party leaders.
