New Delhi: The eyes of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) are now on Uttarakhand. Elections are due in the state next year and AAP has made up its mind to make electricity an issue. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has surrounded the government of Uttarakhand on the issue of expensive electricity. He said that he will be in Dehradun tomorrow.
Arvind Kejriwal tweeted that why people get expensive electricity in Uttarakhand which produces electricity. He said that Delhi does not generate electricity, yet people get electricity for free. When Uttarakhand makes electricity and sells it to other states. CM asked whether the people of Uttarakhand should not get electricity for free?
The Chief Minister of Delhi tweeted, “Uttarakhand itself generates electricity, also sells it to other states. Then why such expensive electricity to the people of Uttarakhand? Delhi does not generate its own electricity, it buys it from other states. Still, electricity is free in Delhi, shouldn’t the people of Uttarakhand get free electricity? See you tomorrow in Dehradun.”

Meanwhile, the reaction of CM Pushkar Singh Dhami also came to the fore. He said that this may be an election issue for Arvind Kejriwal but we are not working only keeping the election in mind. We will do whatever is best for the people of the state.
Pushkar Singh Dhami said, “His (Arvind Kejriwal) issue can only be about elections, we will do the best that can be done for the people of Uttarakhand. We are not working only keeping the elections in mind.”
Significantly, the Aam Aadmi Party is trying to establish its roots in other states on the basis of Delhi’s electricity model. Recently, Arvind Kejriwal had reached Punjab and there he had announced to give 300 units of electricity free of cost if he came to power. Now it has to be seen whether Kejriwal announces something like this in Dehradun tomorrow?
