Kabul: India has pulled out around 50 diplomats and security personnel from Kandahar amid escalating violence in Afghanistan and the growing influence of the Taliban. Also, he has been brought back to India.
According to sources, all of them were evacuated from Kandahar by Indian Air Force aircraft. Government sources told ABP News that the Indian Consulate in Kandahar has also been temporarily closed and only local employees are working there at present. Also, all other services are being provided through the Indian Embassy in Kabul.
Taliban claims it has regained half of Afghanistan
In fact, as the US forces are leaving Afghanistan, the Taliban is once again raising its head in Afghanistan. At the same time, a day earlier, the Taliban had claimed that so far it has regained 50 percent or half of Afghanistan.
The Taliban claimed that they had entered the city of Kandahar.
India had to evacuate its diplomats and security personnel from Kandahar because the Taliban claimed that they had penetrated deep inside the city of Kandahar. Sources in the Government of India told ABP News that the Kandahar Consulate would be reopened once the situation normalises.
